Giving Back

Here at Meadow we love to advertise for good causes. Above all, it helps the cause, but it also shows people that advertising is not about manipulating you to buy one more thing; it’s about effectively getting the word out about a product, event, or issue. Here are some examples of good causes that we have recently helped to support with free advertising!

ast year, Meadow supplied Beaver Works, a non-profit restoring beaver habitat in Oregon, with some old billboard vinyls. These vinyls were repurposed to be bags to carry willow saplings and branches for planting in beaver habitats for beavers to eat and build with. This year, Beaver Works continued working on old vinyls from Meadow Outdoor.

Hurricane Helene and Milton swept through the southeastern United States on September 26th and October 9th respectively, but the cleanup and rebuilding have just begun. It’s a race against time as the weather gets colder and the days get shorter. Winter is almost here and the need for shelter is immediate.

At Meadow Outdoor we believe that we are part of a community and have a responsibility to give back when we can. The most common way Meadow contributes to the local community is through what we call gratis advertising. This free advertising is for non-profits, charities, or local events that encourage relationships, and commerce in our area. Meadow has been providing lots of gratis advertising this summer, let’s take a look at what’s been going on in the community!

Every year the non-profit Beaver Works replants willow and cottonwood trees near beaver habitats. These trees are two of the beaver’s main sources of food and building materials. Beaver Works used plastic bags to store the branches before transplanting. Maureen Thompson, PhD is the program manager of Beaver Works, and she started looking for a more durable and sustainable solution than single-use plastic bags. The solution: old billboard vinyls from Meadow Outdoor.

In April 2023 Meadow sent a container of 10 tons of our used billboard vinyls, along with another 10 tons of school materials, and medical supplies to a school and hospital in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. These vinyls can offer the dignity of privacy, protection at night, and shade from the hot sun.
